Vice President of Innovation and Chief Product Officer
POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Vice President of Innovation and Chief Product Officer will oversee all activities related to new product development and product/production engineering support for existing products. This individual will be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team and help shape the strategic direction for the company by driving innovation and directing all aspects of research and development (product/material/process), testing, certification, commercialization, global line planning and product lifecycle.
This individual will also direct and develop both internal and external resources to identify and create new innovative products and technologies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
New Product Development
Idea Generation and Review
Responsible for the development and direction of research aimed at improving current products and generating innovative, performance enhancing ideas for new products and services.
Works closely with the Vice President - Marketing and the Market Research Team and the Vice President - Global Business Development to review and use existing consumer/customer insights to aid in the line planning process and innovation commercialization.
Works cross-functionally with market research and customer analytics to build on previous ideas and create new strategies.
Creates, evaluates and analyzes proposals for new business ideas, new lines of business and products. Challenge ideas lacking substance.
Presents product ideas to senior management and seeks approval for execution and launch.
Develops third party partnerships to bring yearly, innovative, performance enhancing visual products to market.
Managing Ideas and Innovation
Responsible for managing innovation pipeline and new product development portfolio and budget.
Interfaces with senior management to establish new product innovation business objectives and milestones ultimately achieving results.
Ensures that products are launched on time.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to establish product specifications, resource planning, manufacturing scale-up, process adherence and improvement and the development of IP strategies.
Oversees R&D directives in coordination with company calendars.
Communicates/updates progress or changes to innovation pipeline to senior management.
Marketing Liaison
Assists the efforts of Sales and Marketing by providing R&D support and guidance.
Claim development and substantiation: contributes to and oversees the developments of technical marketing claims for relevant new products and ensures the provision of scientifically balanced substantiation based on credible published and internal research studies.
Represents the Company's technology in public forums, publications and technical presentations.
Product/Production Engineering Support
Continuous Improvement
Conducts post-launch assessment of newly implemented initiatives.
Develops analytical tools to filter and prioritize ideas.
Drives improvements to the Company's R&D systems, including: Design Control, Engineering Studies, Engineering Builds and Life Cycle Management.
Develops and directs product and process calendar.
Works with CFO to establish profitability benchmarking for all product categories related to capital expenditures and cost of goods sold.
Oversees R&D directives in coordination with company calendars.
Testing and Certification
Oversees testing facility and resources to ensure product performance, quality and certification requirements.
Guides the Company's field testing and performance testing programs.
Ensures best in class testing in lab and on field.
Ensures objective testing data comparing our products to the competition.
Resource Management
Manages and develops R&D Team.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree with Master’s Degree in related field strongly preferred.
Minimum of ten years of R&D and/or product management experience in progressively higher roles and responsibilities.
Preferred five to ten years Asian manufacturing experience.
Knowledgeable in composite and other materials research.
Management style that is results-driven and team focused.
Demonstrated creativity and innovation. Proven track record of developing innovative ideas and processes for achieving success.
Demonstrate excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successful delivery of projects on time, in line with budget expectations and to strategy.
Outstanding track record of success in delivering products on schedule and within budget.
Excellent people and communication skills. Must be able to work well within cross-functional product development teams and communicate effectively with the Executive Team on business objectives.
Extensively networked with scientific community, including membership in relevant professional societies.
Awareness of U.S. and foreign market regulatory requirements.

Director - Information Technology
POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Directs and coordinates development and production activities of the information Technology (IT) department by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides leadership that fosters accountability, skill development, and team building, as well as directing the IT group towards the accomplishment of organizational objectives.
Develops and executes an IT strategy plan that is aligned with established business objectives.
Develops, supports, and enforces the necessary IT governance policies for IT personnel and general users including policies for equipment, data and system access, resources, and changes to hardware or software.
Consults with management to analyze IT needs for management information and functional operations, to determine scope and priorities of projects, and to discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions.
Keeps management abreast of the evolving IT trends and highlights the opportunities that these innovations present to the organization.
Recommends and develops plans for systems development and operations, hardware and software purchases, budgets, and staffing.
Manages the development, implementation, installation, and operation of information and functional systems for the organization.
Develops, implements, and monitors management information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
Negotiates and contracts with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products.
Provides support to end users in the review, selection, procurement, usage, and maintenance of software programs and hardware.
Manages computer operation scheduling, backup, storage, and retrieval functions.
Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, maintenance to determine costs and impact and address problems.
Develops, maintains, and tests disaster recovery plans.
OTHER DUTIES
Performs other job related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Master Degree preferred
Minimum of ten years of experience with progressive responsibilities in the Information Technology field.
Proven strong Project Management skills - certification(s) a plus.
Proven record of building, leading and managing a talented IT staff.
Some Network Administrator Skills, Server, Network performance, and Cisco experience a plus.
Minimum five years of experience working with SAP.
Microsoft certification(s) are a plus.
