Meet the 2022 Louisville Slugger LXT Fastpitch bat

Learn about the Speed Composite Barrel, the VCX2 Connection System and all the tech behind a Louisville Slugger staple.

The 2022 Louisville Slugger LXT Fastpitch Bat is the latest evolution of a workhorse known for unmatched performance, a massive sweet spot and a best-in-class feel. Since it first launched in 2014, LXT has served all types of players – from beginners to Olympians on the world stage. Thanks to its consistency and durability, LXT has endeared itself to thousands of players over the last eight years, and those key characteristics live on in the 2022 model.

“When players pick up the LXT, they know exactly what they’re getting,” said James Earley, Louisville Slugger’s Director of Innovation. “With four different weight drops (-11, -10, -9, -8), there is an LXT for hitters of every age and type. Slappers will gravitate toward the (-10) while power hitters will transition to the (-9) and (-8).”

USA Softball star infielder Delaney Spaulding has swung an LXT for years – and keeps coming back for a reason.

“When I get some swings on it, it definitely is just effortless,” Spaulding said of her LXT. “That’s a really good feeling as an athlete, when you feel like you don’t have to do too much, especially in the box. I think that’s definitely what gets me back to the LXT every single time.”

Speed Composite Barrel of LXT

The 2022 LXT Fastpitch Bat boasts a Speed Composite Barrel design, leveraging Louisville Slugger’s patented single disk technology to generate maximum pop and unbelievable sound on contact. The low compression barrel of the 2022 LXT mirrors that of the 2021 model.

“The Speed Composite Barrel gives you maximum trampoline effect and a forgiving barrel made to give the player the confidence she needs at the plate,” said Ryan Stevens, Louisville Slugger’s Senior Technical Specialist. According to Stevens, the barrel is designed to generate a spring reaction that launches the ball forward, and player testimony backs that up.

“I love how easy it feels off the bat when you hit the ball,” said USA Softball infielder Kelsey Stewart. “The trampoline effect is probably the best part of it, where you just touch (the ball) and it goes.”

VCX2 Connection of LXT

To dampen vibration on contact and deliver unmatched feel, the 2022 LXT features its signature VCX2™ Vibration Control Connection System. The connection on this three-piece fastpitch bat design allows for independent movement between the barrel and the handle, mitigating vibration and focusing your energy where it belongs: the heart of the barrel.

“The VCX2 Connection system is unmatched by anything else on the market, providing the perfect amount of dampening on mis-hits while still allowing players to feel the bat as an extension of their hands,” Earley said. “Players love that the VCX2 connection gives them the confidence to drive through the ball with maximum effort.”

COPA End Cap of LXT

Designed to complement the Speed Composite Barrel, the LXT’s COPA End Cap is composed of durable materials designed to optimize performance and deliver maximum pop. Fine-tuned for stiffness and balance, the COPA End Cap works hand-in-hand with the barrel to achieve the ideal swing weight and create a huge sweet spot.

No matter your age or style of play, there is a Louisville Slugger LXT fastpitch bat to fit your game. Each weight drop is available in multiple different lengths, so there is a variation for each player profile.
